A regional traffic-related air quality monitoring network was established in 2016. The network measures nitrogen dioxide as a marker of traffic-related air pollution using passive diffusion tubes at ‘peak’, ‘roadside’ and ‘urban background’ sites. This report summarises the first year of monitoring results and outlines future plans to improve the network. Air quality trends at selected sites with historical data are examined.
