This summary card presents the findings of sedimentation rate monitoring at one site in the Waikanae River Estuary undertaken in January 2018. Monitoring over the last eight years shows a strong overall trend of deposition, elevated mud content and moderate sediment oxygenation. Two new sedimentation plate monitoring sites were established upstream of the current site in 2018, and monitoring will continue on an annual basis.
