Te Horo Beach groundwater quality investigation

Search in document library

Following concern expressed by residents about the quality of
groundwater used for domestic supply, chemical and microbial water
quality indicators were monitored in a number of shallow bores in the Te
Horo Beach township during early January 1998.

Sampling was undertaken to determine the impact of septic tanks effluent
discharge on the quality of the resource and assess the extent of saline
intrusion into the unconfined aquifer.

This report outlines the outcomes of this study.
