A 10 week monitoring study monitored black carbon on a bus-only lane on a section of the Golden Mile, Wellington. The study found that black carbon was a suitable indicator of diesel particulate emissions and could be matched with bus activity data. Long term monitoring is recommended to evaluate the impact of electrification of the bus fleet and other changes to improve transport on the Golden Mile.
