This report describes and analyses the air quality in the
surrounding community of the Exide Technologies Limited
(Exide) battery recycling plant in Petone. It measures the
concentration of lead (Pb) in outdoor air locations that were
monitored in 1999, obtains information on ambient
concentrations of arsenic, and analyses the ambient air lead
concentrations and deposition rates to estimate deposition
velocities of lead particles.
