This strategy provides the Council with direction on how we
will monitor and report on the environment in the future.

The aim of the strategy is to focus our monitoring on the
promotion of sustainable management. The strategy
reflects a change in approach because of the greater
emphasis we now want to place on informing people
about the findings of our monitoring.

An informed and interested community will be far better
placed to participate in the way we manage the
environment.
