Reports on bird counts that were conducted in 13 of the
Wellington region's parks and reserves. Surveys were
conducted on the relative abundance of native birds;
distribution of native bird species, presence of rare
species, changes in native bird populations over time,
the response of native bird populations to predator
control. Records that Waikanae had the highest bird
counts for abundance and diversity of species.
