This publication sets out the direction for managing the five
regional parks in the Wellington region; Battle Hill Farm
Forest Park, Belmont Regional Park, East Harbour
Regional Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, and Kaitoke Regional
Park.
It provides a structure for addressing issues common
to all the regional parks and managing them in a
comprehensive and consistent manner. The report also
considers issues related to land use, development or activity:
including conserving the environment and cultural heritage,
sustaining the community, recreational and commercial
opportunities and use.
It also provides direction where conflicting demands and
values need to be addressed.
