Whareama Estuary: Fine Scale Monitoring 2008/09

This report presents the findings of fine scale monitoring at
two intertidal sites in the Whareama Estuary, a 12km long
tidal river estuary on the Wairarapa Coast. This monitoring
was undertaken in January 2009 and included assessments
of sediment texture, nutrient and organic content,
contamination, and benthic (sediment dwelling) fauna and
flora. The methods used were based on an extension of the
tools included in the National Estuary Monitoring Protocol.
