The vision of the Wellington Regional Land Transport Strategy
(RLTS) 2010 - 2040 is to deliver an integrated land transport
network that supports the region's people and prosperity in a
way that is economically, environmentally, and socially
sustainable.
The RLTS has been developed within a broad legislative and
policy framework. It meets the requirements of the Land
Transport Management Act 2003 and supports the New
Zealand Transport Strategy 2008 vision of 'an affordable,
integrated, safe, responsive, and sustainable transport
system'. The RLTS development also took into account the
Government Policy Statement on land transport funding (GPS)
2009.
