Greater Wellington (Flood Protection) currently holds
resource consent allowing river bed extraction for the
Hutt River downstream of the Estuary Bridge (Figure 1).
The consent is due to expire shortly and a new
consent will be sought. Investigations into the effects
of extraction have included hydraulic modelling of the
lower reaches of the river. This report describes the
modelling and presents results.
