Waiwhetu Stream 2012 - Broad and Fine Scale Baseline Monitoring in the Tidal Reaches
Search in document library
This report summarises ecological and sediment quality
monitoring undertaken in the tidal reaches of Waiwhetu
Stream in February 2012. The survey follows the completion
of extensive flood control work and contaminated sediment
remediation work by Greater Wellington Regional Council
and Hutt City Council. The survey results are compared
against a pre-remediation baseline survey undertaken in
January 2009 using broad and fine scale indicators of
estuary condition that assess key issues of sedimentation,
nutrient enrichment, toxicity and habitat loss.
