This report summarises the results of Greater Wellington Regional Councils
arsenic in air monitoring in Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt. This investigation found
higher arsenic concentrations in PM10 collected by the standard method were
higher than the Ministry for the Environments ambient air quality guideline for
inorganic arsenic. The source of arsenic in air was attributed to the burning of
CCA-treated timber in domestic wood burners.
