Wellington Regional Air Quality Monitoring Strategy 2000-2005

Search in document library

Ambient air quality monitoring is necessary for assessing many of the
issues identified in the Regional Policy Statement and the Proposed
Regional Air Quality Management Plan. In particular, the relative
concentrations of various air pollutants have effects on human health and
amenity values and can result in public complaint. There is insufficient
information and data available in order to characterise the state of ambient
air quality (for state of the environment reporting) in the Wellington Region.

The Wellington Regional monitoring Strategy identifies those sites where
permanent monitoring stations are appropriate and where further
screening investigations need to be undertaken.
