This report summarises the results of Greater Wellington Regional Council’s Rivers State of the Environment monitoring programme for the period 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014 inclusive. This programme incorporates monthly monitoring of water quality, instream plant cover and sediment deposition at 55 river and stream sites across the Wellington region, and annual assessments of invertebrate community composition, periphyton biomass and habitat quality in summer/autumn.
