This report documents the results and outcomes of hydrogeological and groundwater modelling for the Kapiti Coast region. This work follows similar work completed by Greater Wellington Regional Council in May 2011 detailing a proposed methodology for the conjunctive management of groundwater and surface water abstraction in the Wairarapa Valley. For the purposes of resource management GWRC divided the Kapiti Coast into four groundwater management zones. The zones namely the Raumati, Waikanae, Te Horo and Otaki are group areas of similar hydrogeological characteristics. This report is the first of two groundwater modelling report. The second report describes the framework for conjunctive water management in the Kapiti Coast.
