This report presents the findings of fine scale sediment monitoring at four intertidal sites in Porirua Harbour. This monitoring was undertaken in January 2015 and included assessments of sediment texture, nutrient and organic content, contamination, and benthic (sediment dwelling) fauna. This is the first survey since the fine scale baseline was established between 2008 and 2010. Results showed that the intertidal habitat is generally in good condition with low mud concentrations, low levels of toxicity and a typical mixed tolerance macroinvertebrate community.
