The purpose of this complaint form is to establish a process for lodging concerns with Greater Wellington and to lead towards a successful mediation of any disputes that may arise under circumstances pertaining to the development of a Certified Farm Environment Plan including, but not limited to:

  • Farm Environment Plan Certifiers (Certifiers) and/or Certified Farm Nutrient Advisors in relation to alleged breaches of the Farm Environment Plan Certifier/Certified Farm Nutrient Advisor Terms of Agreement for operation in the Greater Wellington Region. 
  • Farm Environment Plan Certifiers (Certifiers) and/or Certified Farm Nutrient Advisors in relation to alleged breaches in professional practice.  
  • Greater Wellington (GW) in relation to aspects of the certification process.  

Any complaint involving Greater Wellington staff shall be handled according to the Greater Wellington’s complaints handling policy.  A copy of the complaints policy is available on request.

Complaints arising in regard to the conduct of Certifiers or Nutrient Advisors may include, but are not limited to:

  • Not following the Farm Environment Plan Certifier/Certified Farm Nutrient Advisor Terms of Agreement 
  • Not visiting a farm;
  • Not spending sufficient time on a farm to collect the correct data;
  • Not verifying that the information collected is correct;
  • Promoting products for which there is no evidence they are needed;
  • Producing a report that does not reflect what a farmer told the Certifier;
  • Parts of the certification process
  • Clients and Farm Environment Plan Certifiers (Certifiers) and/or Certified Farm Nutrient Advisors clients related to any disagreement during the farm planning process.

For items not covered by this process you should contact the Certifier and/or their company of employment. The Consumer Guarantees Act may address your complaint or Small Claims Court may be able to assist.

Any complaint lodged against a Certifier or Nutrient Advisor shall be investigated by Greater Wellington staff and followed up accordingly with the complainant.  Greater Wellington will handle any complaint against a Certifier or Nutrient Advisor with the first intent to understand the issues and to mediate an agreeable outcome with the complainant.
