Our natural environment’s home to an amazing range of native plants and animals that are all totally interconnected. Let’s all ensure everything stays healthy and buzzing.
Countless plants and animals rely on our natural environment to flourish, creating essential ecosystems. The way they work together makes a big impact on climate regulation, carbon storage, waste decomposition and clear air and water. They’re all super important things that need to be carefully looked after – and that’s just what we do, and you can help too.
There are lots of things you can do on your own property to help our region’s biodiversity.
Our Akura Nursery in Masterton has been supplying tree species for over 30 years. These are suitable for shelter, fuelwood, erosion control and timber.
Protecting and restoring our region’s diverse and vulnerable ecosystems helps to increase the health of our waterways, biodiversity, and communities.

Of Aotearoa New Zealand's more than 50 native freshwater fish species, around 70% are threatened or at risk of extinction.
