This report describes investigations into environmental incidents at the
Exide Technologies plant at Petone in 2004. These incidents resulted in
the heavy metal contamination of surfaces and stormwater around the
Exide site, some of which entered the stormwater network, resulting in
significant contamination (notably lead and antimony) of sediments and
water in the nearby Te Mome Stream.
