Wind speed and direction
Wind speed and direction are measured at 10m above ground level at core monitoring sites. Wind and other meteorological data determine how well air pollutants are dispersed and are used to help interpret air quality trends.
The wind roses show the proportion of time that the wind is blowing from a particular direction in a specific wind speed band. The wedge points towards the direction from which the wind arises.
